Shirley Johnson professional ballroom dancer, coach and adjudicator. She specializes in International style Standard and Latin, American Smooth and American Rhythm.

Overview

Trained in Ballet, Tap and Jazz for 10 years, Shirley Johnson discovered Ballroom Dance as a teenager. After a few gigs as a dancer and singer in stage musicals in her native Canada, Shirley found her true home in Ballroom dancing.

Shirley is the winner of over 50 North American and World competitions in category International style Latin . Her championships include Canadian Closed Latin finalist, North American Champion and Undefeated United States Latin American Champion. Prior to her retirement from active competition, Shirley was the perennial U.S. representative and semifinalist at the World Latin Championships and the coveted Blackpool Dance Festival competition in Blackpool, England.

Shirley became the dancer against whom all other women dancers were measured. She is a Master Examiner and Adjudicator for Arthur Murray dance studio, International and a member of the National Dance Council of America and the United States Imperial Society Of Teachers of Dancing.
