The Empire Dance Championship is a sanctioned National Dance Council of America (NDCA) four-day championship hosted annually in August in New York, NY (USA) since 2013 by current organizers Allan Tornsberg, Vibeke Toft, Giampiero Giannico and Katharina Giannico.

Overview

The Empire Dance Championship has been hosted annually since 2013 in New York City (USA). Allan Tornsberg, Vibeke Toft, Giampiero Giannico, and Katharina Giannico currently organize the four-day event held each year in August. The Empire Dance Championship was first hosted at the Conrad New York hotel in lower Manhattan, but is now hosted at the Marriott Marquis Times Square Hotel, right at the center of New York.

NY Dance Camp

The Empire Dance Championship coincides with the NYDC, a two-day dance camp hosted in preparation for the competition itself which includes private lessons, seminars, lectures, and simulation competitive rounds. Many legends of the industry have been a part of this camp line-up including Donnie Burns, Gaynor Fairweather, Karina Smirnoff, Sammy Stopford, Barbara McColl, Carmen Vincelj, Janet Gleave, Sergey Surkov, Anne Gleave, Toni Redpath, Rufus Dustin, Anna Mikhed, and Tony Dovolani.
