Overview
Julie Fryer, born on the 10th of March, 1971 in Manchester, United Kingdom, began her artistic passion at the age of six. She worked at her ballet skills and developed her singing. She won numerous Junior International titles and became a World Amateur finalist.
Soon, Julie found the need for more of her passion and found that in a partnership at the age of eighteen, when she moved to the Netherlands. Since then, she danced competitions with partner Louis van Amstel. Together, with the Team Amsterdam teachers and top coach Ruud Vermeij PhD., they created that new very dynamical Latin style of dancing. This new form of energetic dancing was quickly rewarded. In 1994 and 1995, the duo became 2-time World Amateur Latin Champions and 1995 European Champions in the Latin division among Amateurs. In 1996, Fryer and van Amstel won the Professional World South American Showdance Championship.
Dance After the Competitive Floor
After having won some of the most prestigious titles in the world of Ballroom Dancing, Julie decided to stop competing, but not dancing. She participated in very well-received shows with several world class Professional Ballroom and Latin dancers. With Louis van Amstel, she performed in many American theaters their dynamical dance show “The Best of the Best”.
